Josh Sehrer was born on September 13th, 1982.
Josh's father left his mother in November 1988.
Josh Sehrer grew up in poverty
with his mother and two brothers
in a two bedroom apartment at 955 N.W. Hobart Ave in Corvallis, Oregon.

Josh Sehrer never graduated high school.

Ghettocities Clothing was created in early 2001
by Josh Sehrer.

Since then articles of clothing aswell as
rap CDs about having sex with Japanese girls
and stickers have been produced.

Every trip to Japan, clothing promotion
and minute of survival has been funded by minimum wage jobs.

Josh Sehrer's photographs were taken with
Kodak disposable cameras and all his videos were filmed with Sony TRV517 camcorders.

Josh Sehrer edited his footage by bringing it
(the footage) off his hi8 camcorder and
onto a VHS tape. He would then put the tape into his first of
two VCRs
which (the first) had a Playstation 1 audio cable
hooked up to it's input, he'd then play a song
on the game console's CD player
while playing
the top VCR and recording the music being dubbed
onto the footage through the audio input
with a blank tape in the secondary VCR that was below
the first VCR.

Josh Sehrer transfered the same home video
hi8 footage
directly to his computer.

Josh Sehrer's photographs were all scanned using an
Epson Perfection 1640SU.

Josh Sehrer went to Tokyo for the first time in 2001,
he then later returned once in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
and twice in the year 2006.
Each trip was usually around two weeks, give or take a few days.

Over the years Josh Sehrer wrote (and added) to an online guide
in hopes that he could teach others and do more than just
entertain.
The more well-known chapters of his guide are "How to hustle
Japanese girls" and the "Japanese language help" where Josh teaches the reader
all the Japanese they'd need to know
while filming themselves having sex with Japanese girls.

Japarazzi were originally concept photographs of foreigners in Tokyo
(usually with a Japanese girlfriend) that were shot
to show the world that Tokyo was looking less
and less like Japan. In 2006 the concept shifted to photographs of
foreigners who had been filming and
shooting photos of Japanese girls without their permission.
The idea behind Josh doing this was that his flash photographs
caused the same (if not more) amount of insecurity that
the photographers were bringing to the Japanese girls on the street.
