Before you get into this, the most graphic Japanese lessons to date, you need to know that you don't need to know how to read Japanese, it can easily be written with the roman alphabet.

There are multiple kanji for "toru." If you're going to take a photo or video, it's "torou." "totteru" is when you explain that you're already doing X. toru -> torou (let's do X) In "shashin totte mo ii desuka?" You use "totte" because you're asking whether or not is it ok to take a picture. The "-ou" ending is more like when you have someone else beside you to whom you want to say "let's do X" or in this example "sanpi o torou," meaning "let's film a threesome," pronounced, "toroo." I write it as it is written in kana to ease learning (which is the way "it should be done.") "ei" -> "ee" (at times) and "ou" -> "oo" (almost always.)
